Ates Kuslari – Episode 51

Ates Kuslari - Most children living on the streets never make it to the age of twenty. And even for those who survive, life is far from safe. Drugs, violence, sexual harassment, hunger and countless other dangers shape their everyday reality, leaving many with only two possible endings: prison or the grave. But five children refuse to accept that this is their fate. The eldest is just 13, the youngest only 6; among them are one girl and one autistic child. Calling themselves the “Firebirds,” they discover a forty-day-old baby abandoned in a garbage dump. As they take the baby in, their lives begin to change, and the children who were once known as “Rootless” find a new sense of family and belonging. Their story follows these young survivors as they face hardship, pain and a cruel fate together, determined to rise above the odds. This is, Ates Kuslari (Firebirds).
